Malagasy version:

Niarahantsika nahita fa nisy tokoa ny fihaonana teo aminay sy Andriamatoa Andry Rajoelina izay nokarakarain’ny filoham – piangonana FFKM, izay notarihin’ny Président Monseigneur Odon Razanakolona niaraka tamin’ireo filoham – piangonana telo mirahalahy. Nizotra tsara ary tamim – pirahalahiana tsara ny fihaonana.

Misaotra an’Andriamanitra lehibe isika satria dia tena hita tokoa fa manam – pahendrena ny Malagasy ary araky ny nambarako ombieny ombieny, teny Mahamasina ohatra, dia vonona sy mankasitra ny fifanakalozan – kevitra aho ary indrindra indrindra raha misy ny hevitra tsy hitovizana dia ezahina ny mifanazava ary indrindra indrindra ny tokony hananana fihainoana tsara ny teny avoaka izany.

Koa dia mahafaly ahy ry vahoaka Malagasy ny misaotra ny mpikarakara sy nanomana ireny fihaonana ireny satria ny tombotsoan’ny daholobe no heverina sy hokatsahintsika. Afaka ny tebitebin’ny olona ary manatena aho fa samy hanaja tsara izay fepetra hiantombohan’ny fifanakalozan – kevitra araky ny efa voarafitra ao amin’ny fanambaran – dry zareo ao amin’ny FFKM izany.

Ny fifanarahana dia ny hoe tsy asiana mpanao gazety dia manaja tanteraka izany, nefa ianareo moa manontany ahy dia valiako hoe misy ny fihaonana ary tsy hoe ny fihaonana androany ihany. Nisy koa ny fihaonana omaly niaraka tamin’ny mpanao politika izay notarihin’I Manandafy Rakotonirina filohan’ny MFM, ry zareo ao amin’ny TIM, toy izany koa ny société civile.

Efa nolazaiko fa ilaina dia ilaina ny fifanakalozan – kevitra koa dia manantena aho fa samy hanaja tsara ny zavatra tinapaka amin’ireny fivoriana ireny isika.

Ny mahafaly ahy koa ny mahita ny Malagasy, toa ny nisy zavatra nangeja azy tao, nampihorohoro azy, ankehitriny dia mahatsiaro afaka izay zavatra mitambesatra ao aminy izay izy. Koa dia miantso mandrakariva ny vahoaka Malagasy aho amin’ny fahendrena izay ananany mba ho tony, mba samy handray andraikitra amin’ny famerenana amin’ny laoniny ny fiainana andavan’andro, ny filaminana ary indrindra indrindra ny fandriampahalemana.

Efa manao ny asany hoy aho aminareo ny mpitandro filaminana, ny miaramila, ny vahoaka. Manantena isika fa hitohy izany ary iriantsika dia iriantsika mba hiroso bebe kokoa amin’ny fampandrosoana sy ny fanatsarana ny fiainan’ny olona amin’izay isika ary efa ahita vahaolana mandrakariva amin’ny hevitra tsy hitovizana sy ny disadisa misy etsy sy eroa.

Koa dia izay ihany no tiako ambara fa amin’ny fifanarahana hoy aho aminareo fa tsy hisy ny filazana manokana, na ny mpaka sary akory aza teo, fa ny fanontanianareo ihany no valiako, izay ihany no tiako ho lazaina sy ho tsindriana.

English version: [free translation]

We know that there was a meeting between Mr. Andry Rajoelina and I, organized by the heads of the FFKM (, and led  by President Bishop Odon Razanakolona.The meeting went well, in a spirit of brotherhood. We thank Great God, and we thus see that the Malagasy are wise. I repeated many times, at Mahamasina for instance, that if there are divergent views, it is always possible to explain, and it is important to hear what is  said.

I would like to thank the organizers of this meeting because it the interest of all that we seek to satisfy. People are freed from their fear, and I hope that everyone will respect the preconditions for dialogue provided by the FFKM.

It was agreed that no journalists could attend the meeting, and we respected that. But since you ask questions, I will say that there were meetings between various stakeholders, not just today. Meetings were held yesterday with politicians, led by Manandafy Rakotonirina, the President of MFM, those of TIM, and also civil society. I have already stated that a dialogue is needed and I hope that we will respect what was agreed.

I am pleased to see the Malagasy freed from things that chained them up, terrorized them. I call on the Malagasy people to be calm and that each takes its responsibility to restore order in everyday life, especially the calm , order and security.

The police are already doing their job, the military and the population too. We hope that this progress will be kept on and wish more in the development and improvement of people’s lives, to find outcome differences of opinion and conflicts here and there.

This is what I wanted to announce to you. As I told you, we agreed that there will be no special report, no photographs were there. I just wanted to reply to your questions. This is what I wanted to say and to stress on.

On Friday, Andry Rajoelina talked about an understood long march to where the President is that we all could guess would be Iavoloha.

Finally, on saturday TGV protesters meeting at the Place du 13 Mai, Andry Rajoelina announced that he would meet the president that day. Andry Rajoelina who always said that no negotiation is possible for it is too late or it would not lead to the Transitional Government, had to explain to his followers that this meeting with Marc Ravalomanana is a symbol of victory for the TGV supporters. Andry Rajoelina explained that he was not afraid to personnaly meet Marc Ravalomanana because he would bring “on table” what the crowd of 13 Mai have claimed for.

In fact, Marc Ravalomanana and Andry Rajoelina met in a neutral place – Falda in Antanimena – which has been choosen and initiated by the FFKM (association of 4 churches: Protestant, Catholic, Lutherian and Anglican). No journalists were allowed to attend this meeting.

After one hour of negotiation, this is the communiqué from the FFKM which announced the deals between Marc Racalomanana and Andry Rajoelina:

- Stop provocative statements through medias;

- Stop spreading untrue information and news;

- Stop attacks and roberries of private or public properties;

- Stop meetings on the streets;

- Stop arrestations related to political nature.

The meetings at the Place du 13 Mai have been then canceled.

The meeting of Marc Ravalomanana and Andry Rajoelina on Saturday was just a start. Other meetings are planned. And the next one will be on Monday or Tuesday announced Andry Rajoelina on VIVA TV.

On Saturday, a worship service took place at the gymnasium of  Mahamasina open to all christian people who really wanted to pray together for the country. This worship service was announced on Radio Mada so we could guess that it was initiated by the pro Ravalomanana. Though this worship service invited all chistian people and accepted any political involvment.

Misaotra an’Andriamanitra izahay tato amin’ny FFKM tamin’ny zava-niseho teto Antanimena androany 21 Febroary 2009 dia ny fampihaonana sy ny fihaonan’ny Filoha Marc Ravalomanana sy Andriamatoa Andry Rajoelina.

Misaotra ihany koa azy roalahy mianaka nanana fandavan-tena sy fahasahiana namaly ny antso nataon’ny FFKM.

Teo amin’ny fampidinihina dia ireto ny zavatra nifanarahan’ny roa tonta:

- Atsahatra ny fampiantsiana sy ny fanaratsiana ary ny fandrangitana amin’ny haino aman-jery;

- Atsahatra ny fampielezana vaovao tsy marina;

- Atsahatra ny fandrobana sy fangalarana fanan’olona   na fananam-panjakana;

- Atsahatra ny fihetsiketsehana an-dalam-be;

- Atsahatra ny fisamborana sy ny fanenjehana manana endrika politika.

Ireo no napetraka dia ny mba hanamora ny fifampidinihina satria mbola hisy indray ny fotoana hihaon’ny roa tonta.

Samy anentana ny andaniny sy ny ankilany mba ho tanteraka tokoa ireo zavatra nifanarahana ireo.

Marihina fa nizotra tam-pilaminana, tam-piralahina sy tam-panajana ary tam-patoniana izany fihaonana teo ambanin’ny fitahian’ny filoham-piangonana FFKM izany.

Ankinintsika amin’ny Tompo izao ezaka ataontsika izao satria raha tsy ny Tompo no manao ny trano dia sasa-poana izay manao azy.

Manao sonia ny filohan’ny fiangonana efatra tonta.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, the TGV protesters tried to take the ministries in Antananarivo but the crowd were afraid to cross the barrier formed by the force army. So the attempt was unsuccessful.

Thursday, the TGV leaders changed the tactic. Instead of making a march together to Anosy where some ministries are, the protesters were told to take different ways to surprise the force army. Still on thursday, Andry Rajoelina has threatened the force army that their wives would be at the first line of the crowd if they would really dare to shoot on the people.

Thursday, 4 ministries have been proudly announced by the TGV leaders were taken: Ministry of Education – Ministry of Interior – Ministry of Homeland Security – Ministry of decentralization.

Early on Friday morning, bad news for the TGV protesters. The news on RNM (the national radio) announced that, the night before, militaries came to those ministers and arrested the TGV agents who stayed there to keep the ministries. Those arrested people are kept at the Gendarmerie of Betongolo.

Friday, angry or disapointed (I do not know), Andry Rajoelina, during the meeting at the Place du 13 Mai announced that the protesters will go to Iavoloha on saturday to keep on their “fight”.

You should know that the Palace of Iavoloha is now where the President Marc Ravalomanana stays.

What may happen again on Saturday? I sincerely fear the worst.

Everyone should be now aware of red zones. If the presidential guards will have to open the fire, who would be the real guilty? (It seems like I have already heard this question)

Monday, February 16, 2009 is the rendez vous promised by the TGV leaders to take all ministries in Antananarivo and to install the transition gov ministers. This project did not succeed.

The “usual” meeting of pro TGV started at 10.00 a.m. at the Place du 13 mai with a prayer,  speeches of different leaders (Monja Roindefo and “his” ministers, and obviously Andry Rajoelina). Two new ministers were appointed: the Minister of National Defense  – General RAONENANTSOAMAMPIANINA, and the Minister of Tourism  – RAHARIZATOVO GILBERT.

At 1.00 p.m, the TGV leaders gave instructions to their 10,000 followers. These instuctions concerned the way they  were going to proceed to take the ministries (despite the ultimatum given by the gov yesterday explaining that Ministries are Red Zones). Those leaders were supposed to enter the ministries while the protesters wait outside. Since, the force army was everywhere surrounding the ministries and since those ministries were empty, the TGV leaders invited their followers to go back to the Place du 13 Mai.

Shortly before the risk of overflowing, Andry Rajoelina had publicly asked the crowd not to try to go to the ministries, but the crowd was  angry and refused their leader’s instruction.

The TGV leaders, after trying to calm down their followers without success, finally left the Place du 13 Mai. At Andohan’Analakely, those “angry” protesters threw stones at the force army there. This overflowing explains why the force army had no more choice than firing in the air and exploiding tear bomb to disperse the crowd.

Who are the real responsibles for these horrible killings at Ambohitsirohitra?

Pro TGV condemn Marc Ravalomanana and his current gov. They said that Ravalomanana must have ordered the presidential palace guards to open the fire. The protesters only wanted to take back the CUA’s property – The Presidential Palace of Ambohitsirohitra – and they came up there without any weapons. The presidential guards, for these pro TGV, had no right to kill those poor people. (28 died from the shootings and more than 200 were injured)

For Ravalomanana’s side, this situation was a self defense. People who “wanted to attack” the Palace exactely knew that they were penetrating a red zone. For the pro Ravalomanana, the unique responsibles are the leaders of this TGV protest (Andry Rajoelina, Monja Roindefo, General Dolin) who incitated people to go to Ambohitsirohitra.

Another case is possible, maybe it is the fault of the citizens who were just stupidly following politicians and were trapped, those poor citizens who knew nothing about law nor red zones rules.

This poll may help us to get a better idea of who are the real responsibles of the shootings at Ambohitsirohitra.

On thursday, during the meeting at Place du Mai, the Priminister of the transition led by Andry Rajoelina appointed 4 other ministers:

-Foreign Minister: Ny Hasina Andriamanjato;

-Minister of Trade: Rakotonirina Jean Claude;

-Minister of Justice: Razanamahasoa Christine;

-Minister of Environment and Waters and Forests: Rakotovao Marie Jean Florent.

As I wrote in a previous post (Monja Roindefo appointed 4 ministers), the gov will be complete and will start to work on Monday (Feb 16, 2009).

During this meeting of Thursday as well, Andry Rajoelina said to his followers that: “When Mr. Joyandet discussed with me, he called me “Mr President”, and Mr. Roindefo Monja “Priminister”". Andry Rajoelina proudly announced that the representative of the United Nations came to see him before leaving where this UN Representative said that Madagascar was fortunate to have a young patriot like him.

Talking about this meeting of pro TGV on thursday, even on Radio VIVA, the speeches were around the guilt of the singers who animated the meeting of pro Ravalomanana the day before (Feb 11, 2009). According to the pro TGV, those singers who agreed to sing during this meeting at Mahamasina mean that they agree the massacre on February 7, 2009 at Ambohitsirohitra. A journalist on Radio VIVA explained that Tiako i Madagasikara (pro Ravalomanana Team) should have waited at least 2 or 3 weeks after these shootings at Ambohitsirohitra before having “fun” with singers like Baba, Samoela, Hery Puissance and Jerry Marcos. Those singers explained that they are not involved in politics but only do their work: singing.

A little comment: I felt estonished when today, at the Place du 13 Mai, the pro TGV organizers plaid rhythmic songs to animate the people who still join this strike. I thought, they should have waited at leat 2 or 3 weeks because of the national mourning.

Singers were not the only people who received comment from pro TGV.  Some other use the term “threat”. Andry Rajoelina and his journalists condemned all banks, offices and schools which still open on Wednesday (Feb 11, 2009) – this former Mayor ordered as Dead City day – as companies who accept the violence and killings of Ambohitsirohitra. Is that their real “democracy”?

Today, the President Marc Ravalomanana’s followers of Antananarivo gathered at the stadium of Mahamasina.They were more than 40,000  to reply for the invitation to this first pro-government demonstration since Andry Rajoelina protests.

The gate was open at 11.00 a.m.

This meeting at Mahamasina was the initiative of the Tiako i Madagasikara or TIM which is the President’s team.

The meeting started with a worship service at 01.00 p.m.

The Priminister Charles Rabemananjara and all the ministers of the current government were present.

The goal of this meeting was to show that the majority of the population, who were silent till today, are against “anarchy”.

When I passed by Mahamasina at 1.50p.m., it rained on Tana but people still stayed there showing that they are fully supporting the President.

I could hear those thousands and thousands  people shouting: “Arrest TGV… Arrest TGV”
